Hurricane Proofing Emergency Communication Services in Louisiana
Aptos, CA. – August 16th, 2007: Engage Communication’s T1 Circuit Extension Over IP technology is utilized by the State of Louisiana to backup terrestrial T1 interconnects with On Demand Internet Protocol VSAT services that include secure connections to the State’s data center, as well as circuits that support the P25 radio network.
Louisiana’s P25 IP Based Interoperable Trunked Public Safety Radio System for emergency responders is capable of communications loading of several hundreds of thousands of communications calls on a daily basis.
Post Katrina, communications between police stations, emergency facilities and hospitals were disrupted throughout the state of Louisiana because many radio towers in the path of the storm could only operate in local mode when their critical terrestrial T1 circuits were knocked down.
Government and Commercial organizations are heavily dependent upon the uninterrupted operation of their Voice, Data and Video systems. The need to do whatever it takes to keep the vital systems fully operational is a primary objective.
Engage’s Critical Infrastructure connectivity assurance utilizes Multi-Circuit and Multi-Packet Technologies to exercise every available option to keep Voice, Data and Video systems fully operational in the event of a disruption of Telecommunication service. Click here to learn more!
