Education
Engage products are used by Universities, Colleges, and School Districts to help meet the rapidly evolving networking and security needs of these institutions. Cost effectively replacing T1 circuits with packet networks, encrypting sensitive data, creating secure tunnels, and protecting cryptographic material are some of the ways Engage assists in this effort.
Our products provide Education Institutions with innovative and cost effective solutions that connect network elements, protect critical circuits and secure network traffic and cryptographic keys. We have a quarter-century of experience developing, manufacturing, and supporting solutions that are critical to our customer’s operations.
Highlighted Solutions
Big Ten University “says goodbye” to expensive circuit network
• Opportunity: A top Big Ten University IT department was tasked with reducing telecom costs, and targeted replacing their T1 circuits.
• Solution: Convert inter-facility T1 traffic to packets with Engage IP•Tube, and run traffic over an IP network. Use IP•Tube integrated echo cancellation on portions of the T1s carrying voice.
• Result: Monthly T1 circuit costs eliminated and T1 traffic seamlessly transported over IP network.
University Medical Center tunnels “non-routable” traffic between facilities
• Opportunity: A Mid-Western University Medical Center needed to transport native Ethernet traffic over an IP network to various locations.
• Solution: Encapsulate Ethernet frames into IP packets and forward between facilities using mesh networking provided by Engage E2 Ethernet to IP converter.
• Result: Ethernet traffic successfully connected between facilities over IP network.
New York School District transitions from T1 to IP campus connectivity
• Opportunity: Decommission aging T1 network connecting School District campuses together, and replace with IP packet network.
• Solution: Connect campuses together with packet networking while retaining T1 equipment at each campus using Engage IP•Tube circuit to packet conversion products.
• Result: T1 interfaces of campus equipment connected to IP•Tube, converted to packets, and transported over packet network. T1 circuit costs eliminated and network quality improved.
