Encryption Appliance Secures Telco Links with Easy Installation
BlackBond T1 from Engage Communication provides advanced encryption for WANs
Aptos, CA. – October 18, 2005: Engage Communication announced today the availability of the Black•Bond T1, a sophisticated, Advanced Encryption Standard T1 link encryptor that plugs easily into an organization’s existing T1 communications infrastructure such as those used by the:
• Department of Defense
• National, State and Local Governments
• Public Safety Networks
• Homeland Security
• Multi-Site Commercial Enterprises
• Telecommunication Service Providers
Communications managers can now secure their Cellular Links, WAN Data Networks, PBX trunks, Voice and Data Multiplexers and Video Codecs with strong, 256-bit AES encryption with much less time invested for the design and implementation.
“The focus on security has exposed the vulnerability of WAN links. Government agencies and Enterprises need to secure their legacy communications infrastructure without complications and disruption,” according to Mark Doyle, Engage Communication President. “We developed the Black•Bond T1 using our expertise in Wide Area Networking to make secure communications easy to install and maintain.”
The Black•Bond T1 is a commercial, off-the-shelf encryption appliance that utilizes FIPS-approved 256-bit AES encryption with automatic key management for point-to-point or dial-up T1 communications links. The T1 interface is protocol transparent, incorporating Engage Communication’s sixteen years of experience developing communications equipment to support the full range of applications. Today’s release supports T1 interfaces. Future versions are being developed to support E1, T3 and E3 circuits.
For applications that require fault tolerant communications, theBlack•Bond T1 offers two forms of transparent redundancy: a second T1 line with configurable Switchover Criteria or a T1 over IP option for back up over Wireless Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, IP satellite service, xDSL, or other IP link. The Black•bond T1 transparently splices into the existing legacy communications infrastructure to provide 256-bit AES encryption with optional fault tolerance over a secondary T1 or IP interface.
