Engage and Systems Integrator ACG Systems Provide Solution for New Department of Defense Communications System
Aptos, CA – November 20, 2013
Engage Communication, a leading provider of circuit emulation, circuit protection, and encryption solutions announced today its innovative IP•Tube product line was selected for use in an advanced portable communications system deployed during early combat operations and pre-combat training exercises.
Early deployment often means personnel are on the ground with little to no infrastructure in place. Yet one of the key objectives of these missions is communicating intelligence in real time about the conditions observed. Today, this intelligence consists of voice, video, and data and must be rapidly transmitted to maximize operational effectiveness. These requirements led to the implementation of a new secure radio system with expanded range and throughput using the latest Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) technologies. The Engage IP•Tube GT1 is a key element of this reliable and rapidly deployable system.
“The Department of Defense Service Branches are very good, and very thorough when developing standards, and then evaluating equipment and components to those standards. They do multiple vendor comparisons, and pick the very best,” says ACG Systems Vice President Tim Carney. “Engage’s IP•Tube GT1 was judged to be the best TDM over IP technology for voice transport in this system, and was therefore included in the spec. It’s a great product, and definitely a testament to Engage’s product engineering and manufacturing capabilities.”
“We are excited to partner with ACG Systems on this advanced wireless communications project,” said Mark Doyle Engage President and CEO. “Our leadership in reliable, robust, and feature rich circuit to packet solutions is made possible by working with key partners on innovative projects such as this.”
